Summary
The Business Data Analyst provides analytic support to business users throughout the organization by providing insights that help them make informed decisions about various initiatives. With assistance, this individual will be responsible for developing the approach and methodology of the analysis, identifying data sources, and defining and creating the variables needed for evaluation and analyzing data. The individual will use multiple data sources to find relevant relationships and turn them into actionable insights. The Business Data Analyst will assist in several large-scale ongoing projects ensuring data integrity and completeness of evaluation of business issues. This position requires a creative, detail-oriented person who can manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment. The Business Data Analyst should be a self-starter who can take initiative and forge relationships in order to learn the business and get needed information and specifications from cross functional partners.
Roles and Responsibilities:
· Leverage tools and existing data (e.g., workforce, point of sale, guest, check, operational) in order to develop appropriate methodologies for analysis plans
· Assist in collecting and transforming data for large scale projects
· Conduct ad hoc analysis and routine KPI reporting in support of the business
· Create graphs, presentations and dashboards that help visualize insights found from data for more impactful communication to business partners
· Help to create an environment where well informed, fact-based decisions are made about our business
· Collaborate and coordinate analytic efforts with larger analytic and insights community at Bloomin’ Brands
Required Technical Skills:
· Advanced analytic skills and experience such as correlation analysis, test vs control, regression, and familiarity with segmentation and other advance methods is preferred
· Understanding of statistical concepts
· Ability to extract, aggregate, mine and prep data sets for analysis
· Proficiency in visualization software such as Power BI or Tableau
· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Products (Excel, Powerpoint)
· Knowledge of Alteryx or big data analytics software preferred; knowledge of computer programming concepts required
· Deep curiosity to uncover insights to help the brands and businesses thrive
· Excellent communication skills
Required Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, finance, economics, statistics or related field
