ConnectWise is hiring a Product Marketing Manager

General Summary:

The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for conceiving, developing, and maintaining innovative integrated go-to-market strategies that drive demand in assigned markets.  This individual will build positive relationships with their PMM colleagues and will be responsible for driving the overall success of their portfolio of products.  They will also create the integrated go-to-market strategies, which will include developing effective messaging, obtaining market intelligence, building sales enablement, and delivering compelling assets.  This role requires product expertise, influence, business and marketing savvy and close collaboration with stakeholders across marketing, product management, partner success, and sales teams.

A focus on strategy and an eye for quality, along with the ability to build positive relationships throughout ConnectWise is crucial.  The Product Marketing Manager will be the expert in market needs, buyer and user behavior, and will transfer that knowledge throughout the sales, marketing, customer success, product management and development organizations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for success of the ConnectWise Unified Monitoring and Management product line(s)
  • Determines and drives GTM direction and strategies that drive demand in assigned markets
  • Leads cross-functional teams for successful GTM outcomes
  • Determines growth strategies for underperforming products
  • Modeling new product plans or routes to market, accounting for required resources and payback period
  • Working with, and presenting to executives on growth initiatives
  • Drive the end-to-end planning processes and core priority setting.
  • Work across the organization and company to drive outcomes, align with business owners and stakeholders, mitigate risk, and deliver value to our internal and external customers
  • Has a thorough and deep understanding of the Technology Solution Provider Market and its submarkets
  • Product subject matter expert interface to all sales, marketing, community, and consulting teams
  • Drive evolution of the business through simplification and transforming activities.
  • Develop and manage the positioning and messaging for the product expansion strategy in new markets
  • Identify customer needs, oversee market research, and monitor market trends and competitive landscape
  • Sales enablement – communicate the value proposition of the products to the sales team and develop the sales tools that support the selling process of ConnectWise’s products
  • Monitor internal processes for efficiency and validity pre & post product go to market
  • Management of market persona mapping and intelligence – Be the expert on buyers, how they buy and their buying criteria; be an expert on competitor weaknesses and how to crush them
  • Management of demand generation – Assist marketing with programs that drive demand for products within their assigned markets
  • Communicating and collaborating across departments the why, what and when so it can be positioned appropriately to the marketplace
  • Initiating and fostering relationships with development, sales, marketing, and other groups to create new products or enhance functionality of existing products or product lines
  • Owns the product market requirements phase of market analysis, total addressable market size and competitive landscape
  • Interfaces with all partners centric listening posts (i.e., feature requests, forums, PIN, etc.) to gather input and communicate product strategies
  • Ability to do unified product demonstrations, delivering presentations to customers and prospects
  • Technical Product Marketing – Craft overall messaging, message matrix and positioning for internal organizations
  • Marketing activities – market and technical expert to support branding, product messaging, all Annual and Quarterly Marketing Plans
  • Liaison into Community activities– market and technical participant for user groups, Nations events, tradeshows, and roadshows
  • Translate technical capabilities into benefits and value proposition
  • Enablement Resource for Internal Training and working with Education on training material messaging and content
  • Active participant in thought leadership blogs and whitepaper

Educational/Vocational/Previous Experience Recommendations:

  • Bachelor’s degree required and MBA preferred
  • Product Marketing Certification preferred
  • 3+ years of job-related experience in roles such as marketing or sales, evangelism, program management, or product management within a mature/growing software organization
