So, what does it take to be a DTCC Financial Operations Associate Director?

 

The Financial Reporting & Accounting department advises on the accounting treatment for complex transactions, performs all accounting, and prepares all external financial statements and regulatory reports.

Financial Operations is responsible for several operational finance functions. This includes the timely and accurate preparation and distribution of customer invoices for DTC, NSCC, Deriv/SERV, FICC, DTCC Solutions and various other products and services, payment of vendor invoices including allocation of tax, VAT/GST, application and management and collection of customer payments, travel and expense reimbursement, processing of client contracts and vendor onboarding. The team supports audit and risk initiatives by providing process overviews, supporting documentation and recommendations for improvement. Finally, SME support is provided for finance related projects.

The Associate Director role is responsible for overseeing and management of various Financial Operations functions. This includes but is not limited to management of staff, managing transaction volumes, ensuring performance targets are met, supporting audit/risk activities, maintain policy, procedure and process documents. Produce metrics to measure and manage team performance, execute various management related tasks timely and accurately including payments, write-off adjustments, etc. Provide ongoing feedback and support to develop staff performance levels. Collaborate well with all other areas of the business to ensure services need are being met. Work on ad hoc projects and tasks as provided by management.

  • Manage and monitor standards of all team members performance
  • Management of inquiries and escalations for troubleshooting and issue remediation
  • Monitor, follow up and ensure completion of all customer related inquiries
  • Escalate to leadership when SLA targets are not being accomplished
  • Review and confirm monthly scorecard and metrics are accurate
  • Contribute to group goals as defined by management
  • Complete ad hoc requests as required by the management team
  • Aligns risk and control processes into day to day responsibilities to monitor and mitigate risk; escalates appropriately
  • Monitor multiple channels for incoming and outgoing customer payments
  • Works closely with Financial Reporting, Treasury and Corporate Procurement Services to ensure success of end-to-end process
  • Prepares and manages monthly aging and reconciliation processes
  • Monitors and manages KPIs to ensure they are achieved
  • Identifies and owns issues to completion to ensure a good customer experience and issue resolution
  • Ensures the highest level of customer service is provided to both internal and external clients
  • Develops and monitors internal controls to ensure integrity of end-to-end Financial Operations by reporting and remediating risk incidents timely and accurately
  • Supports internal and external audit as well as Operations Risk Management by responding to requests and providing evidence that internal controls are being followed and effective
  • Responsible for ad hoc projects including developing business requirements, managing performance and measuring success to ensure the project is completed successfully
  • Assists and drives implementation of key integrations and/or automation opportunities across department
  • Responsible for managing and delivering ongoing performance reviews and ongoing development and coaching of staff
  • Establishes department objectives and strategy to support the needs of the business
  • Establish performance standards for department and team to ensure success
  • Performance ad hoc tasks as defined my leadership by collaborating on ongoing projects and providing required data timely and accurately
  • Mitigates risk by following established procedures and monitoring controls, spotting key errors and demonstrating strong ethical behavior.
  • Minimum of 7 years of related experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred with Masters or equivalent experience
