Amgen is seeking a Global Data Analyst- Meetings Management who will work in our Employee Services group. The Global Data Analyst- Meetings Management will report to the Senior Manager, Meetings and will work out of Amgen’s Capability Center in Tampa, FL. The Global Data Analyst- Meetings Management for Global Meetings Management (GMM) will provide enterprise and event level analysis, development of analytic applications and models, and guidance on data/statistical techniques and best practices. They will also provide mentoring and consultation to the GMM Regional Team Leads for data collection, aggregation, dashboard development and analysis of systems and data warehouses.

The Global Data Analyst- Meetings Management responsibilities will include:

  • Works with transactional datasets where expertise with CVENT, Concur, Tableau, Workday etc. would be helpful
  • Uses Amgen data to support the development of advanced algorithms and predictive models
  • Builds and maintains specific data analytic queries and data stores, standard and custom report layouts, and a library of executive report formats Liaison.
  • Evaluate algorithms using methodologies such as regression, classification, clustering, prediction and machine learning
  • Provides analysis and insights for operational processes as needed
  • Manages vendors – RFP’s, contract renegotiations, SLAs and metrics
  • Ensures data is within 95% accuracy
  • Partner with Travel, Expense and Card groups to use data in overall analysis and metrics
  • Prepares/presents monthly/quarterly/yearly metrics for Global Business Services leadership team on overall activities
  • Interacts with internal and external departments: Account Management, Project Management, Global Business Solutions, Global Sourcing Solutions, Finance, Regional Leadership, Expense, Travel and Card as well as logistics agencies.
  • Maintains strict confidentiality of employee, financial and company records

Basic Qualifications

Doctorate degree


Master’s degree & 2 years of data analysis experience


Bachelor’s degree or & 4 years of data analysis experience


Associate’s degree & 10 years of data analysis experience


High school diploma / GED & 12 years of data analysis experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or 5+ year’s equivalent job experience in quantitative field: Computer Science, Information Systems, Statistics, Economics
  • Experience with CVENT software
  • Strong knowledge of statistical techniques: regression, clustering, classification.
  • Working knowledge of data discovery and visualizations techniques: distributions, histograms, bar plot charts
  • Strong data visualization skills. Building dashboards, executive reports, infographics, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills with the ability to prioritize multiple projects simultaneously. Ideally PMI certified
  • Excellent technology skills: MS Office, Excel, Power Point (Workday and SAP a+)
  • Data visualization tools such as Tableau or Microsoft PowerBI.
  • Ability to communicate complex data and strategic recommendations to diverse groups
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment where priorities may change with little advance notice
  • Able to work flexible hours due to collaboration with global teams
  • Travel approximately 5%
