Gale Healthcare is hiring a UX Researcher

Summary

As part of the User Experience team, the User Researcher will help lead and conduct user research and usability testing efforts to promote the voice of the user in the design and delivery of our products.  The focus will be to ensure user centric, usability-driven and outcome-oriented digital experiences for our clinicians, facilities, and our employees. 

You will plan, lead, and conduct user research, competitive research, and usability tests to:

• Generate insights and identify opportunities
• Understand user needs, goals, and drivers
• Test design and interaction solutions

You will develop meaningful and relevant questions, tests, and surveys.  You will create a process for answering those questions and solving complex problems utilizing a variety of research methods and approaches to deliver concrete, actionable recommendations.

You will collaborate with Designers, Product, Engineering, and Data Science teams because your insights will have real and immediate impact on product roadmaps, business and operational processes, and design.  

Primary Responsibilities: 

• Scope, plan, craft, manage, and execute discovery and evaluative research and usability studies
• Analyze, synthesize, generate insights / opportunities and report on research and usability studies
• Integrate quantitative thinking into studies in partnership with Product and Data
• Integrate Product, Design, and Engineering needs into studies
• Create and maintain (Proto-) Personas
• Create Critical and E2E User Journeys
• Communicate findings, insights, and recommendations

REQUIREMENTS

Key Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of experience in User Research / Usability Testing; preferred experience in marketplaces within healthcare or staffing industry, another regulated industry, or an agency role servicing such clients
• Deep expertise in ethnography, qualitative or mixed methods user research for digital products.
• Understanding of different research methods, their strengths and weaknesses and when and how to apply them in the product development process
• Outstanding analytical and problem solving skills
• Excellent communication (verbal and writing) and presentation skills
• Experience delivering in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
• Experience with project software such as Asana
• Self-motivated, flexible, eager to learn from others, take chances and jump right in 
• Able to lead and work independently, execute and deliver on time and on schedule
• Degree in design thinking, UX, or similar discipline or a relevant field (Human Factors, Human Computer Interaction HCI, Human Machine Interaction HMI, Psychology, Cognitive Science, Anthropology, Sociology, …), or equivalent practical experience
