Summary
ORGANIZATIONAL SUMMARY:
The Office of Advancement Communications and Marketing is a key unit within the Division of University Advancement/USF Foundation Inc. With a staff of 11 full-time Administration employees and 1-3 student employees, ACM’s purpose is to serve as strategic partners with Advancement and university leaders to inspire and engage our alumni, donors, patients, students, faculty, staff and friends. We create compelling communications in all forms, and make existing content better.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Senior Communications and Marketing Officer for Digital Content serves in the University Advancement division on the Advancement Communications and Marketing (ACM) team to increase engagement and giving for the nation?s fastest rising university among alumni, donors, parents, patients, friends and community leaders. The Senior Communications and Marketing Officer helps oversee website and other digital communications, including emails and other digital content, for the USF Foundation, USF Alumni Association, and donor/alumni audiences for university partners, ensuring that all content is timely, accurate, optimized and accessible. The officer will: help oversee the creation and structure of new and existing web pages, refining content for a strong user experience for alumni and donors according to best practices and division goals and objectives; assist or lead on video and graphic design projects; and build, test and send emails to numerous audiences served by Advancement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Produce, curate and edit content for websites, email communications, social media, newsletters, and other collateral to showcase donor impact and engage alumni, patients, employees and prospective/current donors.
Manages website revisions and web communications initiatives for the division, developing and executing web strategy within comprehensive communications and marketing plans and projects.
Assist with video, multimedia and graphic production.
Work with Advancement Operations IT staff on technical issues and requirements as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM:
This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media, or related field, with two years of experience in related positions; or a Master’s degree in the fields listed above. Appropriate college coursework or vocational/technical training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.
PREFERRED:
Master’s degree in communication, marketing, public relations, technical writing, digital media or related field and/or seven years of experience.
SPECIAL SKILLS/TRAINING:
This position requires technical and professional communication skills to create content for the website and other related communication formats (email, social media, marketing material). Ability to write and edit copy, incorporate elements of graphic design, and build appealing and user-friendly websites. Experience using Web Content Management System and email marketing platforms required. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Email Studio, Adobe Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Rush and Premiere Pro skills a plus.
