Keri Higgins-Bigelow

Founder & CEO of LivingHR

Q. How have you implemented a vibrant workplace culture here at Living HR? What are some of the most successful tactics you’ve come across in your own business?

A. We have the “create your own opportunity” mindset, which means a lot of different things to different people. For some it means taking advantage of tons of learning opportunities, for others it means ultimate flexibility. We created systems to be able to manage around the exceptions and we don’t make rules for things that don’t need rules. We encourage our team to work from where it makes sense, whether that be in the office, at home, or from a beach chair. We don’t want people to worry about their mental health, physical health, wellness or happiness. Those are non-negotiables for us and they should before every single organization. We trust our people to take care of our clients, and because of this trust, they do. We’re all driven by a collective purpose and responsibility that hasn’t necessarily come from anyone telling the team to behave this way. Really, it comes from walking the walk of the culture — and the fact that our culture is genuine.

"We know that it’s not always easy to find what we like to call your “Rainbow Unicorn,” which is that perfect one-in-a-million person companies are always seeking in the increasingly competitive world of talent. But, Tampa Bay is uniquely positioned to attract and engage these unicorns thanks to our history and our ability to invite others to be part of our future."
