Position Overview
Provides support and analysis for all Finance related functions including asset liability management, financial reporting, profitability analysis, investments, and liquidity analysis. Conducts a variety of financial analysis and forecasting to aid in completion of credit union wide projects and product development. Assists with operating budget preparation and reporting, and coordination of internal and external audit functions.


Duties and Responsibilities
Conducts routine and non-routine financial analysis. Develops and/or maintains a variety of financial          models and reports as needed.


Responsible for analyzing and interpreting credit union data for asset liability modeling and reporting including validating ALM assumptions.   Reviews data related to financial performance and financial scenario analysis, as primary user of ALM software.  Prepares and analyzes ALM reports.  Responsible for monthly ALCO Package reports.
Analyzes the loan portfolio to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats, and discover the sources of trends. Presents trends, opportunities, and issues to ALCO, and makes recommendations for action.
Monitors cash position at the Federal Reserve and other financial institutions, as well as ATMs and branches. Assists with monitoring liquidity risks.
Develops and implements “report writer” reports. Queries data from database by data mining as needed.
Prepares monthly investment portfolio analysis, reconciliations, and accounting entries. Develops reports, including liquidity reports, to be used for investment decision making.
Responsible for communicating trends and results regarding all aspects of ALM, credit analytics, and investments. Prepares minutes from quarterly assessment meetings regarding ALM results and credit analytic results.
Supports the preparation of the Credit Union financial forecasts and budgets.
Prepares and analyzes profitability reports for all branches and departments.
Directs and organizes preparation of annual operating budget. Maintains budget information in accounting system. Reviews budget variances and reports results to management.
Coordinates schedules, activities, and other information required for external and internal auditors and NCUA examiners as it pertains to ALM or credit analytics.
Coordinates quarterly meetings with third party ALM vendor, including maintaining the relationship.
Reviews and develops related accounting policies and procedures, recommending changes to improve efficiency or strengthen controls
Responsible for maintaining knowledge and understanding of current trends, laws, and issues affecting area of expertise. Attends educational events that will increase professional knowledge and be otherwise beneficial to the Credit Union. Completes annual BSA/AML Compliance Training and understands employee’s role in maintaining an effective BSA/AML compliance program, and completes FACT Act Red Flag training.


Minimum Education, Experience and Skill Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
3 years progressively responsible experience in accounting or financial analysis, preferably with a financial institution.
Must have a detailed understanding of ALM, including interest rate risk, model assumptions, and interpreting results.
Must have liquidity management experience to include evaluating liquidity risk exposure.
Must have excellent analytical skills including root cause and trend analysis.
Able to prioritize tasks, deal effectively with competing and changing priorities, and meet deadlines. Accurate, detail-oriented, and organized. Must be able to resolve difficult and sometimes complex problems and situations.
Good knowledge and understanding of regulatory compliance necessary to successfully perform job responsibilities.

Good knowledge and understanding of Credit Union products, services, policies, and procedures, as applicable to the Finance Department.


Good knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio, Microsoft SQL Server 2012, SQL Server Reporting/ Report Builder, SQL Server Integration Service, Analysis Services, and Microsoft SharePoint 2010. Proficient with data visualization tools like Power Bi or Tableau. Must have advanced knowledge of Excel, including Power Query, Power Pivot and V-lookups.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills, and public presentation skills in order to interact professionally and effectively with staff and regulators.
Works independently with limited supervision.
