Channelside
Nestled between downtown, Port Tampa Bay and Ybor City, you’re within walking or biking distance from some of the best Tampa Bay has to offer. You’ll find lively bars, restaurants and coffee shops tucked in the ground floors of high-rise condos and apartments, and farther down the road in Ybor City. Many of the young professionals and their families who call this area home bike or take the Downtowner (free shuttle service hailed via an uber-like-app) to work in downtown. During the off-hours, walk to Tampa Bay Lightning hockey games at Amalie Arena. If the arena is a bit too cold for you in December, watch parties in Channelside Plaza offer cozier viewing along the waterfront.

Hyde Park
Retail shops in Hyde Park Village and gourmet eats take over the daytime. Bayshore Boulevard, a 10-foot wide, 4.5-mile continuous waterfront sidewalk, is a hotspot for spectacular city views, catching the Gasparilla Pirate Invasion parade route, jogging, walking or biking. At sunset, a date-night atmosphere and an after-party vibe take over with bars and restaurants. South Howard has the most action with its mix of casual bars for quick bites and libations and more spirited nightlife that croons with live music and bar games. One of Tampa Bay’s most famous fine dining restaurants (Bern’s Steak House) and a bygone-era speakeasy round out this eclectic neighborhood that’s a mix of old charm meets nouveau living.
