Q: How did your company get its start?

A: Rewst is my second software startup. After exiting my first company, I decided to start a second one.

Q: Why did you choose to become an entrepreneur?

A: I had always wanted to be an entrepreneur but never acted on it. As I was approaching 40 years old and still in the corporate world. I decided that I needed to do it, or else I would regret it later in life. If I fail, no regrets. If I succeeded, great. It was win-win.

Q: Why did you choose to start your business in Tampa?

A: Tampa is where I lived. Also, I enjoy helping the emerging startup scene in Tampa.

Q: How critical was the Tampa Bay startup community (investors, mentors, entrepreneurs, etc.) in your journey to becoming an entrepreneur?

A: My company would not exist without the Tampa investor scene.

Q: Are there any additional, local resources in Tampa that you’d recommend to newcomers or entrepreneurs that have had a positive impact on your business journey?

A: If you are a young software startup in Tampa, do some research on the local angel investors in the area. They can really kick start your business.

Q: What would your overall advice be to someone looking to start a business in Tampa Bay?

A: Just start the business. Don’t be rash about it, but also don’t over analyze the opportunity to the point where you never act on it due to analysis paralysis.

Q: It’s been great to hear more about your success as an entrepreneur in Tampa. However, we know Tampa has so much to offer throughout the city. So, we must ask – what’s your favorite hidden gem in Tampa?

A: Keystone Lake is a hidden gem. You are still minutes away from the city, but it feels like you are in the country.
